ENVIRONMENT:
Our esteemed client, situated in Stellenbosch, is renowned for its expertise in providing comprehensive guidance on business trends, processes, and systems, enabling clients to focus on their business pursuits, growth, and strategic planning with assurance. Presently, they are in pursuit of a Tax Compliance Consultant to enhance their team. As a pivotal member of their TAX Compliance Department, you will assume a crucial responsibility in ensuring the precise handling of Tax, VAT, and other SARS-related procedures for their diverse clientele. Your proficiency will extend to advising and supporting their internal Accounting and Auditing teams, in addition to delivering expert counsel to clients on a spectrum of tax-related matters.
 
DUTIES:
  • Complete income tax and provisional tax returns on e-filing based on financial statements and tax computations provided.
  • Deal with SARS queries relating to the Income Tax returns submitted.
  • Monitor submission of returns to ensure timeous finalisation of work.
  • Downloading SARS e-filing correspondence and drafting response where required.
  • Any other SARS related task to ensure overall tax compliance.
  • Maintaining high standards of accuracy and quality in your work.
  • Effectively interpreting and applying theoretical knowledge.
  • Meeting deadlines and prioritising workload efficiently.
 
You’ll also be involved in:
  • Compiling various SARS returns such as withholding tax returns where required.
  • Handling reconciliation of assessments, drafting objections and appeals where required.
  • Addressing SARS queries.
  • Ensuring quality control of corporate returns before submission to SARS.
 
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Registered tax practitioner.
  • Degree or diploma in finance and taxation.
  • Other relevant tax qualifications will also be considered.
  • Minimum 2 to 3 years of relevant tax compliance experience.
  • Knowledge of e-filing administration compulsory.
  • Computer literate.
  • Completed SAIPA articles. (NON-NEGOTIABLE)
  • Good knowledge and understanding of Income tax compliance regulations.
  • Willingness to work under tight deadlines during tax season.
