Senior Risk Analyst (EE)

ENVIRONMENT:
MONITOR and control risk exposure of assigned portfolios as your expertise as a Senior Risk Analyst is sought by a dynamic Financial Services Group to join its team. You will do this through contributing to the management of Credit Risk with a key focus on the IFRS 9 portfolio and related reporting. You will also investigate data integrity issues, test assumptions and validate analytical results, ensuring accuracy and sensitivity of findings. Applicants will require a Bachelor’s tertiary qualification in Commerce/Science or Humanities with a focus on Statistics, IT, Economics, Mathematics, or similar. You will also need 3 years’ experience/proficiency in the following: Credit Risk Analysis on lending products; IFRS9 provisioning methodologies and/or impairments modelling and reporting; Preparation of data-driven credit policy recommendations for senior management & Data manipulation and analysis using SAS, SQL, or other data analysis tools.
 
DUTIES:
  • Automation and maintenance of risk reports as part of the monthly risk reporting processes.
  • Maintain, update and enhance IFRS 9 provisioning and key forecasting models, including backtesting of IFRS 9 models.
  • Align risk reporting to meet Shareholder requirements.
  • Coach Analysts within the areas of modelling and report production.
  • Deliver insight into key drivers of impairments including underlying arrears performance and movements in expected credit loss.
  • Investigate data integrity issues, test assumptions and validate analytical results, ensuring accuracy and sensitivity of findings.
  • Ensure there is an effective suite of reports which explains key drivers of Credit Loss Forecasting.
  • Attend, when required, relevant forums and committees.
  • To identify and deliver opportunities to enhance the key processes in relation to accuracy, efficiency, controls and insight.
 
REQUIREMENTS:
Qualifications –
  • Bachelor’s qualification in Commerce, Science, or Humanities with a focus on Statistics, IT, Economics, Mathematics, or similar.
 
Experience/Skills –
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience/proficiency in the following:
    • Credit Risk Analysis on lending products.
    • IFRS9 provisioning methodologies and/or impairments modelling and reporting.
    • Preparation of data-driven credit policy recommendations for senior management.
    • Data manipulation and analysis using SAS, SQL, or other data analysis tools.
  • Strong understanding of the business’ processes and ways in which to continuously improve them.
  • Strong presentation skills (written, verbal and presentation-related).
