ENVIRONMENT:
Our client, a dynamic Engineering Service Provider, is seeking a PLM & CAD Administrator to join their Cape Town office. This hands-on role involves managing, maintaining, and optimising PLM and CAD systems across a multi-country, multi-location environment, requiring strong technical skills, system administration expertise, and the ability to collaborate with global IT and engineering teams. The successful candidate will also contribute to advanced initiatives, including digitalisation, automation, and AI-driven engineering solutions.
DUTIES:
- Install, configure, and maintain PLM and CAD environments to ensure stability and performance.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
- Monitor and troubleshoot system performance, workflows, and CAD integrations.
- Partner with engineering teams to recommend process and efficiency improvements.
- Deploy and manage upgrades, patches, and updates.
- Track and optimize engineering software license usage.
- Develop and maintain documentation, best practices, and training materials.
- Collaborate with U.S.- and Costa Rica–based and other IT and engineering teams to resolve issues and improve systems.
- Support advanced IT and engineering initiatives, including AI, digital transformation, and process automation projects.
- Stay current with PLM/CAD advancements, best practices, and IT infrastructure trends.
REQUIREMENTS:
Qualifications
Required:
- Associate or BA/BS degree in Computer Science (or related field).
- Strong knowledge of PLM and CAD systems (any platform).
- Proficiency in system troubleshooting, upgrades, and performance optimization.
- Solid understanding of IT systems, networking, and security principles.
- Solid understanding of PC hardware, peripherals, and mobile devices.
Preferred:
- Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or Information Technology.
- Hands-on experience with Siemens NX and Teamcenter.
- PLM/CAD certification (Siemens or equivalent).
- Experience supporting engineering teams in a product development environment.
- Experience with Teamcenter Change Management and Workflows
- Experience with managing multi-site environments
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to collaborate continuously with the U.S. and Costa Rica central teams (flexible scheduling may be required).
- Ability to operate effectively in a multi-location, multi-country PLM deployment, including managing distributed users, infrastructure, and compliance requirements.
- Onsite end-user support role.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 20kg of computer equipment.
