ENVIRONMENT:
A fast-paced Engineering Service Provider in Durbanville is seeking a proactive and ambitious Industrial Engineer to join their team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in transitioning engineering designs and data into production, integral to the engineering release process. Responsibilities include managing industrial and process engineering functions, such as assessing sub-systems for production feasibility, creating detailed production line process models, and troubleshooting production issues. The ideal candidate should be well-rounded with strong emotional intelligence, capable of handling complexity in a dynamic environment. Key attributes include self-motivation, meticulous attention to detail, and a positive attitude that fosters teamwork and excellence.
Requirements for the role include a Bachelor’s or B Tech Degree in Industrial/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualifications, with at least 3 years of post-graduate experience in industrial and process engineering, preferably within the automotive industry.
 
 DUTIES:
  • Transition engineering designs and data into production, ensuring seamless integration and implementation.
  • Participate in the engineering release process, ensuring all industrial and process engineering functions are addressed.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to review and approve sub-systems for each product line in terms of build feasibility.
  • Develop detailed production line process models detailing how and where subassemblies are installed on the production floor.
  • Investigate and resolve issues found on the production line, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
  • Conduct time studies and production line optimization to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, and management, to align engineering projects with business objectives.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of process models, methodologies, and findings.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production processes and efficiency
 
 REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor’s / B Tech Degree in Industrial/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification(s)
  • 3 years plus of post-graduate in industrial and process engineering, preferably in the automotive industry.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and production line dynamics.
  • Experience with time studies and production line optimization.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with engineering and production teams.
  • 3D Modeling Software Experience (would be an advantage)
  • Willing to travel overseas for variable periods
