ENVIRONMENT:
Our client, based in Johannesburg, who has developed a comprehensive range of travel service and leading travel technology is looking for a Chief Operating Officer whose main responsibility will be to ensure operational efficiency and excellence across all aspects of the company’s operations. Driving technology driven operational systems to maximise staff productivity, customer service excellence and key stakeholders’ satisfaction, the COO will be deputy CEO as well as CEO Designate. The successful candidate will be in possession of a CA (SA) and /or MBA from a recognised institution and have previous working experience in senior management for a minimum of 5 years.
DUTIES:
- Participate in the setting of financial targets.
- Ensure cost-effective use of company assets.
- Analyse, interpret financial operations data and metrics.
- Create and communicate reports to management and other business stakeholders.
- Set comprehensive goals for business growth and success.
- Take the lead in business expansion activities.
- Maintain relationships with key clients, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
- Ensure shareholder engagement and that shareholder needs are met.
- Ensures efficient operational systems are in place across company operations to support customer service delivery.
- Drive innovation, automation, and digitization to improve process efficiencies.
- Design, plan and implement business strategies, plans and procedures.
- Ensures that operations follow a standard operations procedure.
- Oversee daily operations and the work of senior management.
- Ensure that the business registers and maintains ISO 9001 level standards.
- Ensures that operations are in line with POPI and other related Data Security legislation.
- Establish policies and procedures that promote service excellence, company culture and vision.
- Ensures application of standard and fair performance management system.
- Lead by example.

- Remain aware of the business key needs and assist as and when necessary.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Previous working experience in senior management for a minimum of 5 years in The Travel or Hospitality Industries
- CA (SA) and /or MBA from a recognised institution
- In-depth knowledge of different business functions such as Operations, HR, Finance, Marketing.
- Experience in strategic planning and business development
- Good knowledge of data analysis and KPIs
- Familiarity IT/Business infrastructure
