Account Manager – Infrastructure (JHB)

ENVIRONMENT:
MANAGE existing business and drive new business (Hunting & Farming), along with performing cost-benefit analysis and return-on-investment analysis as the next Account Manager sought by a dynamic ICT Specialist. Focusing on the Public Sector and Private Sector (70/30 Split), you will work closely with other departments and technical teams to present and articulate the capabilities and value of the company’s services at all levels within the Private Sector. The ideal candidate will be able to combine their excellent sales and consultative skills with an expert understanding of advanced and emerging technologies. You will need Grade 12/Matric, a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration/Marketing or similar discipline, have Dell Infrastructure Partner Training and 5-7 years’ Account Management and Sales experience in the Public Sector within the ICT industry & 3-5 years IT Technical Sales experience, with emphasis on ICT infrastructure (Storage, Backup, HCI, Servers, Cabling, Switching, etc).
 
DUTIES:
  • Responsible for 60% Hunting and 40% Farming (Building strong client relationships to maintain old business and acquire new customers).
  • Ensure that sales targets are met.
  • Coordinate with various teams so that the customer’s expectations are met.
  • Upsell the Company’s services and solutions.
  • Serve as the custodian for the Private and Public Sectors in order to drive overall market share.
  • Serve as the liaison between the Company and their customers.
  • Manage market segments, customer base and industry verticals to target.
  • Assist in defining and executing the strategic business development plan.
  • Manage and identify key customer relationships and pipeline.
  • Utilise the internal System in order to track the whole sales process flow.
  • Be responsible for attending bi-weekly / monthly meetings and reporting thereof.
  • Be responsible for managing relationships between the Company, Distributors and OEM’s.
 
REQUIREMENTS:
Qualifications/Training –
  • Grade 12 / Matric (Senior Certificate).
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Dell Infrastructure Partner Training.
 
Experience/Skills –
  • 5-7 Extensive Account Management and Sales experience in the Public Sector within the ICT industry.
  • 3-5 years IT Technical Sales experience, with emphasis on ICT infrastructure (Storage, Backup, HCI, Servers, Cabling, Switching, etc.).
  • Business Development experience.
  • Proven sales track record.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets, revenue and GP targets.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills for dealing with different types of customers and clients.
  • Basic Accounting and/or technical knowledge.
  • Excellent understanding of Government Supply Chain processes and tender / bid process.
  • ICT knowledge – Infrastructure specific.
  • Business acumen, compliance, and organising.
