
Datafin diversifies its Recruitment offering

Datafin has become synonymous with IT Recruitment, but the initial Recruitment offering did include both IT and Finance.
“We were initially doing IT and Finance, hence the FIN in Datafin, “explains Lindy Sollinger, Datafin co-owner.
But the IT Recruitment quickly took on a more prominent focus.
Sollinger recalls that, “We found IT to be so much fun and fast-paced that we stuck to IT for the first 15 years.”
Once the Recruitment Agency had honed its IT Recruitment expertise and established a strong clientele and reputation in the business of Tech Recruitment, it was time to grow and take on new challenges. Datafin’s diversified Recruitment offering has since branched out to industries including HR, Logistics, Legal and the cutting-edge areas of HealthTech and AI.
Sollinger said they wanted to have the ability to present a client with staff for not only one subdivision of their business.
“We wanted to be able to service our clients holistically and provide them with ALL their staff, not only IT. Also, once you have recruited in IT anything else is relatively easy,” she emphasised.
Many on team Datafin have grown their desks to become “go-to” Recruitment Consultants employing for reputable Financial Services firms, multinational corporates and increasingly – for international clients.
Sollinger highlights that, “We have become Global Recruiters, and this has opened up a lot of opportunities for our candidates.”
Datafin survived the 2008 recession, the Covid-19 pandemic and even what Sollinger jokingly quips as “Gen X stoicism”. She believes that a Recruitment Agency like Datafin has thrived because our focus has remained on the human element – that we are not only finding the right skillset or experience but the “person behind the skill.”
Sollinger added, “We are very much focused on the person behind the skill and find more and more we are recruiting for a personality/cultural fit.
