ENVIRONMENT:
A dynamic Academic Institute seeks a forward-thinking Graphics Design Lecturer to fill an Independent Contractor role in Potchefstroom. You will lecture Humanities-related modules while assisting with administration and departmental affairs and activities as required by the academic department. Applicants will require a Honours Degree in Graphics Design (a Master’s will be beneficial), with suitable lecturing work experience with the necessary knowledge of Higher Education practices and processes and relevant research experience.
DUTIES:
Modules to be lectured – Applied Colour & Design, Visual Literacy, Typography, Drawing, Communication Design, Motion Graphics, Digital Design, 3D Animation, Copywriting, Web Design, Advanced Drawing & Illustration, Professional Practice
- Lecturing.
- General Administration.
- Set and mark assessments.
- Preparation of notes and additional study materials.
- Quality Assurance.
- Management of At-risk students.
REQUIREMENTS:
Qualifications –
- Honours Degree in Graphics Design. (Master’s would be advantageous)
Experience/Skills –
- Relevant lecturing experience.
- Necessary knowledge of Higher Education practices and processes.
- Relevant research experience.
