ENVIRONMENT:

IF you are passionate about growing vendor business, then your ambitious nature and strong commercial acumen as an IT Vendor Manager is sought by an innovative Solutions and Systems Integration Specialist to join its Joburg team. Your core role will be to drive Vendor Strategy including Product Management, Certifications, Commercial Programs, Skills, Channel and Marketing activities. You will also be expected to build key strategic relationships with the country leads of OEMs and partnerships and establish Alliance and Partnership-led programs and campaigns, ensuring that new customer base is established with key customer attack plans. You will require Grade 12/Matric, a suitable 3-year Degree/Diploma, 5 years’ Vendor Management experience in a corporate ICT environment and Vendor specific sales experience and/or Technical Certification. You must have the ability to take ownership of the vendor relationship; leveraging its value in the negotiation process to drive maximum margin for the company and a disciplined, programmatic approach to campaign-based pipeline generation and Marketing Sales Ready Lead (SRL) qualifications. You must also have a proven track record of previous experience on System Administration support. Please don’t apply unless you have had Vendor Management experience in an IT environment. DUTIES:

Organisation Strategy –

Primarily involved in the development, evolution and approval of the long-term vision across a vendor function.

 

Functional Responsibility –

Support most senior level within a major function for a business unit.

Own the Vendor Management and certification requirements of a vendor.

Own interface between partners, solutions, delivery and architecture.

 

Impact on Organisation –

Direct impact on business performance.

 

Leadership –

Provide vendor technical updates to employees.

Give regular, comprehensive and constructive feedback to team in terms of vendor updates.

 

Key Accountabilities:

Alliance Management is responsible for the end-to-end certification process of each strategic vendor to ensure that the company remains certified at the appropriate level.

Vendor Marketing: Own the vendor marketing campaigns and the appropriate funding to drive these initiatives to deliver compelling integrated marketing propositions that meets customer needs, enables sales channels, creates market awareness and generates demand for vendor products and solutions.

Responsible for relationship with OEMs to obtain funded resources to support specialised support.

Vendor Management is responsible for the end-to-end certification process of each strategic vendor.

Understand and articulate a vendor’s vision and mission to drive their strategy into the business.

Thorough understanding of the vendor’s strategy, programs, commercial models, rebate schemes, certification requirements, Marketing programs to drive and own the vendor relationship within the company.

Incorporate knowledge of a vendor’s products, solutions and services into the vendor process and uses that knowledge to work with the technology solutions teams to create value-based solutions.

Build trust with others by acting authentically and with integrity, work effectively as a team member but is also able to assist with the technology teams by providing vendor input needed to effectively assist with the sales, solution and delivery process.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

Qualifications –

Minimum Grade 12/Matric. (Essential)

3-Year relevant Diploma or Degree. (Essential)

 

Experience/Skills –

5 Years’ Vendor Management experience in a corporate ICT environment.

5 Years’ Vendor specific sales and / or Technical Certification.

Able to understand current state and future state needs of each vendor in order to uncover the key drivers of value for the customer.

Skilled in articulating the value of vendor solutions and is able to clearly differentiate these strategies / solutions in the marketplace.

Leverage the value of vendor relationship in the negotiation process to drive maximum margin for the company.

Establish vendor relationships that enable the business to be viewed as a trusted advisor.

Ability to take ownership of the vendor relationship.

Proven track record of previous experience on System Administration support.

Proven track record of accomplishment and over-achievement of goals.

A disciplined, programmatic approach to campaign-based pipeline generation and Marketing Sales Ready Lead (SRL) qualifications.
