Tier 3 Senior Support Engineer (East London)

ENVIRONMENT:
PROVIDE cloud, infrastructure, datacenter, software, and end user computing support as your technical expertise as a solutions-driven Tier 3 Senior Support Engineer is wanted to join the East London division of a dynamic Internet Service & Network Specialist. You will assist with escalations from 2nd Line Support Engineers, provide 3rd Line datacentre software support, conduct Preventative Maintenance and architect new solutions. Applicants will require Matric/Grade 12, an IT-related qualification (Certification, Diploma, Degree) and one of the following Certifications: MCSE, VCP, CCE, HPE (DC) (End User), DELL (DC) (End User), VMware, Veaam. You will need at least 7-10 years’ experience supporting ITC environments, possess a valid Driver’s Licence with your own reliable vehicle with the willingness to make use of your own vehicle for business travel.
DUTIES:
- Assist with escalations from 2nd Line Support Engineers.
- Provide 3rd Line datacentre software support
- Preventative Maintenance (Patch Management).
- Remediate issues identified by audit and monthly reporting.
- Technologies include (but not limited to) –
- Cloud Services: Azure, AWS, Google Cloud
- Virtualisation: VMware vSphere, MS Hyper-V, Nutanix AHV
- Citrix Virtualisation
- Application Delivery Controllers: F5, Citrix, FortiADC
- Operating Systems: All Microsoft & Linux
- MS infrastructure: Active Director, Exchange, SQL, SCCM
- Backups: Veeam, Backup Exec
- Monitoring: N-Central, SCOM, PRTG, WhatsUp, SolarWinds, Nagios, Quest
- Antivirus: McAfee, ESET, Symantec, Kaspersky
- End User computing
- Storage Area Network
- Networking.
- Proactive analysis and reporting on system health.
- Present reports to customers during monthly feedback sessions.
- Submit change control and remediate reported findings.
- Architect new solutions.
- Contribute to PM to compile project plans based on architecture and resource availability.
- Implement projects in line with planning and architecture.
- Document implementations and provide SOPs.
- Management of Internal, Vendor and Business Partner resources delivery.
- Aware of and manage project delivery within budget.
- Timeous submission of relevant documentation which effect billing.
- Ensure accurate and complete project related documentation (e.g. time sheets and project sign off documentation).
- Ensure HEAT management system is up to date and complete.
- Work with Service Management to ensure on time delivery.
- As required – develop accurate As-Built Documentation after delivery.
REQUIREMENTS:
Qualifications –
- Matric or Grade 12 Essential.
- IT qualification (Certification, Diploma, Degree).
- One of: MCSE, VCP, CCE, HPE (DC) (End User), DELL (DC) (End User), VMware, Veaam.
Experience/Skills –
- Minimum 7-10 years’ experience supporting ITC environments.
- Valid Driver’s Licence own reliable vehicle.
- Willing to make use of own vehicle for business travel.
