Regional Financial Director (Manufacturing) (Paarl)

ENVIRONMENT:
A global leader in cutting-edge Security Solutions seeks to fill the critical role of a Regional Financial Director, with a background in Manufacturing, who will contribute to all areas of business performance and will provide strong financial leadership. You will be responsible for planning and coordinating regional budget and business planning activities in alignment with corporate policies and practices. The incumbent will provide financial direction to the business and provide recommendations to improve overall business performance. Day to day management of the finance function, financial planning and analysis, treasury and tax. Applicants must be CA (SA) (Chartered Accountant) qualified with 10 years’ experience in a multinational organisation in Financial Manager / Controller role responsible within the manufacturing environment.
DUTIES:
- Management of the accounting organization: Oversee daily activities, ensures proper control environment is in place, manages team performance and accountable for team development.
- Manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, G/L, Inventory/Cost Accounting and Revenue Recognition.
- Manage month-end closing and prepare monthly financial statements and other operational reports for site.
- Analyse variances (Material/Labour/Overheads) and communicate explanations to management with recommended actions.
- Calculating Activity Based Costing and Standard Costing and Pricing.
- Prepare forecasts of income statement, balance sheets, and statement of cash flows for the region.
- Must work across organisation boundaries and all levels of the company to achieve regional and corporate objectives.
- Integrate and train new staff while leading the continued professional development of the existing team.
- Share best practices across global Finance/Plant Controller, e.g. process improvements, financial modelling and procedures changes.
- Provide proactive / unsolicited consultation, interpretation and education of complex financial and operational matters to various departmental leaders used to drive business decisions.
- Governance: Ensure local delegation of authorities and governance is implemented and enforced that is consistent with Group policies.
- Collaborate with General Manager and senior management to explain results, make improvements, manage projects, identify inefficiencies, understand operations and lead the development of complex analysis.
- Monitor and implement plant internal controls (in conjunction with corporate policies) as necessary to ensure reporting integrity, safeguard company assets, and identify risks.
- Ensure proper accounting in accordance with Local Generally Accepted Accounting Principles as well as local statutory requirements.
- Responsible for the working capital management, cash forecasting and liaising with suppliers and customers to enhance and improve working capital management, cash collections, stretched payments, etc.
- Lead year-end Audit activities.
- Will be appointed as a Director on local South African Pty Ltd.
REQUIREMENTS:
- CA (SA) (Chartered Accountant).
- 10 Years’ experience in a multinational organisation in Financial Manager / Controller role responsible within the manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated expertise in MS Office and ORACLE/SAGE/IFS financial software – experience with OneStream and Power BI systems is a bonus.
- Strong financial control and reporting skills and rigorously ensuring that all statutory and corporate obligations are met.
- Knowledge of budgeting and forecasting techniques as well as proficiency with financial statement analysis and projection.
- Experience in handling multiple concurrent tasks and meeting strict deadlines.
- Ability to read, analyse, and interpret financial reports and legal documents.
- Able to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries from the business.
