Junior Technician (Hybrid)

A company based in the Western Cape is looking to hire a skilled Junior Technician on a 12-month fixed term contract, to join a highly motivated technical team.  The ideal candidate will have relevant tertiary qualifications and /or applicable courses and a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Microsoft Junior Technician or equivalent role.
  • Pair with other Technicians and understand the company’s operations environment.
  • Continue to learn and hone skills as a Technical Engineer.
  • Focus on depth of knowledge and expertise in technical operations.
  • Understand Processes.
  • Assist senior technicians in their relative job function.
  • Installing and configuring Windows Server.
  • Manage and Maintain Windows Server.
  • Server virtualization (Hyper-V).
  • Problem-solving / Technical Analysis.
  • User administration in MS Active Directory.
  • Good communication and telephonic skills.
  • Troubleshoot and support.
  • Network installation and management (Routers & Cabling).
  • PC Installation and management.
  • Remote and Telephonic Support.
  • Onsite installation of hardware and software.
  • Perform the necessary tasks to maintain all technical infrastructure with best practices.
  • Ensure client requirements are met for technical requirements.
  • Structured reporting as per company policy.
  • 24/7 Standby availability for Telephonic/Remote support.
  • Travel out of the Western Cape for installations/support.
  • Stock Control of Equipment.
  • Creating Manuals for Clients and for yourself to maintain.
  • Make use of ticketing system where you will be assigned work, you will need to add notes of work done and time spent.
  • Relevant Tertiary Qualifications and /or applicable courses.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Microsoft Junior Technician or equivalent role.
  • Excellent work ethic, punctual, enthusiastic, and willing to learn.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English.
  • Good communication and telephonic skills.
  • Patience for repetitive tasks.
  • Ability to work without constant supervision and micromanagement.
  • Team player with the ability to work in small teams.
