Junior Routing Specialist (Centurion Hybrid)

A strong technical, customer-centric and solutions-driven Junior Routing Specialist is sought by a provider of cutting-edge Software Solutions to join a team that runs the Messaging (A2P, P2A) routing functions within the organisation. This role will work directly with both local & global customers as the single point of contact for registering Sender IDs and Short codes across various Mobile Network Operators across the globe. This is an entry level role. The Routing team is a key part of the Messaging Business Unit, whose mission is to ensure high quality, reliable routing of SMSs while increasing margins. Applicants must have Matric/Grade 12, strong troubleshooting skills & ±3 years work experience in a Telecommunications position, preferably with an MNO or WASP.
  • Sender ID registrations: Own this function by becoming an expert in in-country regulations, submitting sender ID requests with MNO’s and partners. Advise clients on traffic separation business rules.
  • Monitor quality, costs, rates of all SMS traffic, make routing changes to ensure quality standards and cost savings.
  • Coverage Updates: Import rate changes received from partners on the messaging system.
  • Testing: Continuous testing of SMS Routes of partners and making routing suggestions to the Routing Manager.
  • Finance: Conduct reconciliations of partner invoices and investigate any deviations.
  • Reporting and Analytics.
  • Matric/Grade 12.
  • ±3 Years experience in a Telecommunications position, preferably with an MNO or WASP – Desired.
  • Strong technical background.
  • Computer Literacy (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS PowerPoint).
