Junior Project Engineer (Web Development/Mechatronics)

ENVIRONMENT:
A dynamic Industrial Manufacturing Concern in the Northern Suburbs seeks a highly technical Mechatronics/Electrical Projects Engineer to join its team. Your core role will entail spearheading and managing an innovative system being implemented across plants nationally. This role will require someone who has knowledge and experience in full-stack development as well as being capable of applying themselves to every aspect of the system including installations, site inspections, fault finding and product development. You will also require a B.Eng/BTech/BSc. Degree or Diploma in Mechatronics/Electrical Engineering or similar with 2-5 years suitable work experience including experience with electrical systems and installations. Travel to other project sites across the country will be expected.
 
DUTIES:
  • Installation, testing and commissioning of scanning systems.
  • Daily monitoring and fault finding of scanning system.
  • Further development and enhancements to web platform (Front/Back-end Development).
  • Development and improvement of image-based code reading system.
  • Development and improvement of product identification tags.
  • Procurement of electrical components and instrumentation.
  • Daily monitoring of system performance and resolving any issues that arise.
  • Management of web platform (adding new sites, users and data).
  • Work with hardware suppliers on product developments, implementation, fault finding.
  • Liaise with customer IT teams to manage site installations and resolve any issues.
  • Provide support to customers as required.
  • Project documentation generation and reporting as required.
  • Travel nationally to project sites.
 
REQUIREMENTS:
Qualifications –
  • B.Eng/B.Tech/B.Sc or Dip in Mechatronics/Electrical Engineering or similar.
 
Experience/Skills –
  • 2-5 Years’ relevant work experience.
  • Experience with electrical systems and installations.
  • Able to work independently.
  • Ability to work with tools.
  • Advanced computer skills.
  • Driver’s license and own transportation.
  • Willing to travel.
 
Advantageous –
  • Experience in coding or web development.
  • Project Management.
  • Experience in image-based code readers.
