YOUR proven track record designing & executing successful Operational strategies is sought to fill the role of a Group Head of Operations for a cutting-edge Joburg Tech Company. In this strategic leadership position, you will be responsible for designing and executing solutions, managing on-ground Operational teams while overseeing activities within the Operational Intelligence Room. Applicants will require exceptional problem-solving abilities, forward-thinking planning, strong team collaboration, keen attention to detail, and the ability to drive optimal performance from both subordinates and superiors. You must also have proficiency with Data Analysis and Operational Intelligence tools.
You must be located in or willing to relocate to Johannesburg as you will primarily work from the JHB office.
Operational Strategy and Design –
  • Develop and execute comprehensive Operational strategies aligned with organisational goals and objectives.
  • Design innovative solutions to address Operational challenges and enhance efficiency across various functions.
Team Leadership and Management –
  • Lead and inspire operational teams on the ground and within the Operational Intelligence Room.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement among team members.
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and mentorship to team members, enabling their professional growth.
Operational Excellence –
  • Drive operational excellence by analysing processes, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing improvements.
  • Ensure seamless coordination between different Operational units to optimize overall performance.
Problem Solving and Decision-Making –
  • Quickly identify and analyse complex Operational issues, proposing effective solutions.
  • Make well-informed decisions based on data-driven insights and industry best practices.
Future Planning and Innovation –
  • Anticipate future operational needs and trends, developing strategies to proactively address them.
  • Stay informed about emerging technologies and industry developments to drive Operational innovation.
Operational Intelligence Oversight –
  • Manage activities within the Operational Intelligence Room, ensuring timely and accurate information flow.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate intelligence insights into actionable Operational strategies.
Stakeholder Management –
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment and effective communication.
  • Engage with senior management to provide updates, share insights, and seek support for Operational initiatives.
Performance Measurement and Reporting –
  • Define Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for Operational teams and intelligence activities.
  • Regularly assess and report on operational performance, highlighting achievements and areas for improvement.
Effective Communication –
  • Communicate Operational goals, strategies, and progress clearly and effectively across all levels of the organisation.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth cross-functional communication and coordination.
Qualifications –
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field; Master’s Degree preferred.
Experience/Skills –
  • Proven experience in operations management, with a track record of designing and executing successful Operational strategies.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and operational intelligence tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage both upward and downward relationships within an organization.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and precision.
