A captivating opportunity is on the horizon within a firmly established and expanding PropTech firm nestled in Westlake, Cape Town. They are actively on the lookout for a GIS Implementation and Support Agent who brings a minimum of 2 years of experience to the table, thrives within collaborative team dynamics, and possesses the acumen to adeptly interpret instructions and independently accomplish tasks. Your central role will revolve around crafting digital maps using one of the company’s exclusive products. This entails a range of responsibilities, including the manipulation of CAD data, conversion of specific data from CAD files into shape files and points data, execution of graphic design tasks, fine-tuning colour details, and the formulation of foundational maps. A pivotal element of this role involves being well-versed in a variety of data formats and software tools, spanning CAD, rasters, vectors, image tiling, and demonstrating prowess in activities such as generating spatial datasets, overseeing database administration, integrating data streams, and optimizing workflow procedures.
  • Collect base information requirements for new projects / new phases for sales maps.
  • Liaise directly with the client during implementation phase.
  • Manage deadlines and delivery dates with clients.
  • Communicate with clients on various platforms i.e., emails , telephonic calls, virtual meet ups as well as onsite for collection of base information as required.
  • Create all the required GIS files required for creating a sales map.
  • Test all GIS file, add configuration and quality check all work done on the test and live environment.
  • Ensure all communications is recorded on the project tasks.
  • Professionally and efficiently resolve all issues logged on the system by confirming all required project implementation data with the client.
  • Capture all implementation support issues on the Product Implementation logging system.
  • Escalate appropriate issues to the relevant Account manager when required.
  • Update documentation on Confluence with the relevant information for the Sales Map Implementation to hand over to Support.
  • Work with the Production team in delivering and testing projects and new functionality.
  • Be part of the support team when required.
  • Play an active role in the Agile product development process by attending morning scrum meetings and resolving testing issues timeously.
  • Liaise with customers and create and maintain a close professional relationship with them, their employees, system users and professional teams.
  • Analysis and conversion of spatial data through mapping software and designing digital maps with geographic data and various other data sets.
  • Graphic Design, colour correction and creation of base maps 
  • To be familiar with various data formats and software, like CAD, rasters, vectors, image tiling as well as how to perform tasks like creating spatial datasets, managing databases, data integration, and workflow automation.
