Creative Director

Cape Town – Western Cape

Our client, nestled in the picturesque Franschhoek wine valley is seeking a Creative Director with a relevant tertiary qualification, who has experience working with a luxury brand that values aesthetics. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of brand management and must possess excellent skills in design, copywriting, and language. The ability to manage a team of creative individuals is essential, as is a flexible management style that accommodates working with a team of mostly mothers. E-commerce experience is required, and candidates who have worked exclusively on other wine farms will not be considered. Experience working with influencers is highly desirable.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Team management
    • Leading a team of talented content creators, including photographers, designers, social media, copywriters, and PR.
    • Fostering an environment where team members can collaborate successfully and feel comfortable sharing ideas.
Brand leadership
    • Liaising with the marketing, customer relations, sales representatives, and other departments to ensure consistency in brand messaging.
    • Supervising writers and proofreaders to ensure that content is created in line with the company’s style guide and voice.
    • Updating and maintaining style guides.
Creative input
    • Working with the e-commerce marketing team, as well as content creators and stylists, to plan campaigns around launches and key dates.
    • Providing inspiration for the team in creative sessions.
    • Creating and leading campaigns.
    • Leading the design team.
• Social media
    • Overseeing implementation of the company’s social media strategy.
    • Supporting social media managers to grow social media channels whilst keeping content on brand.
Website and app maintenance
    • Ensuring that the website and app are up to date and reflect the company’s brand identity.
  • A relevant tertiary qualification.
  • Exceptional leadership and people management skills, and ability to lead diverse teams.
  • Experience in design and concept development, with a keen eye for aesthetics.
  • Awareness of and interest in current international trends.
  • Digitally competent, with an understanding of web design and practices.
  • Experience of social media management.
  • Flexible; the ability to quickly change priorities and adapt to a fast-changing environment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Fluent in Afrikaans and English, with exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
