A fast-paced Travel Tech company in Durbanville seeks a forward-thinking UX/UI Designer to join its team. You require a tertiary qualification in Web Design / Graphic Design / Human-Computer Interaction, or related work experience, an extensive portfolio of work of at least 3 years’ experience in user-centred design including work in the ecommerce sector, able to produce UX based assets including wireframes and final designs, have used Material design or similar design frameworks, proficient in the use of mock-up tools (Figma, Sketch), Adobe suite, and wireframing tools, working knowledge of HTML5 and CSS3 & able to translate briefs (including process flows) into mock-ups within a short space of time. Please note this is a Contract role.
What we’re looking to achieve –
Create a Brand Handbook (#1-2 below) and Design System (#3-5 below) using Material Design principles, which consists of the following:
Corporate Identity –
Logo (exists, no changes needed).
Logo usage (needs some work).
Colours (needs some work).
Typography (needs some work).
Stationery (needs some work – e.g. email signatures, letterheads, etc).
Digital Brand Guide –
Voice and tone (exists).
Style and grammar (exists).
Brand values (exists).
Media usage (needs some work).
Component Library (new) –
All web components.
In Material Design.
For use by developers.
Aligned with CI & digital brand guide.
Aligned with existing UX heuristic evaluation.
Redesign templates (apply new design, refer to existing, but propose new UX) –
Using all above
Mobile & desktop (2 break points only)
±8 web templates
±3 email templates
±3 customer travel documents (PDFs).
Canva.com content templates (new) –
±10 content templates (e.g. social elements, CTA elements, etc).
To be used by our content team moving forward.
A tertiary qualification in Web Design / Graphic Design / Human-Computer Interaction, or related work experience.
An extensive portfolio of work of at least 3 years’ experience in user-centred design.
Proven ability to produce UX based assets including wireframes and final designs.
Experience using Material design or similar design frameworks.
Proven understanding of user interaction concepts, the customer journey, and design principles.
Proficient in the use of mock-up tools (Figma, Sketch), Adobe suite, and wireframing tools.
Ability to translate briefs (including process flows) into mock-ups within a short space of time.
Good working knowledge of HTML5 and CSS3.
Understanding of responsive web design principles and device specific best practices.
Strong English communication skills, both written and oral.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify opportunities for improvement.
