Our Johannesburg based client that deals within the cutting edge financial and banking arena is looking for a very ambitious Junior Software Engineer both front and back-end experience required to join their team. There is huge growth potential for the person in this role. This is a financial tech environment.
The Junior Software Engineer, along with our Senior Software Engineer, will be responsible for further product development as well as maintenance on the company’s financial technology systems.
You will have to take responsibility and ownership of the system and will be expected to assist with operational queries on an ad hoc basis.
You will furthermore get involved in new product development as the company expands their product range, which includes the development of our new workflow product for the intermediary space, which is currently in early stage development.
As a Software Engineer you will also be expected to get involved in all aspects of the software development cycle.
B.Sc. Hons preferably from a reputable large University
Highly proficient in coding
0-2 years experience
The ability to work independently is critical
Inherent curiosity with regard to all things Software Development
Logical and structured thinker
Understand the importance of ownership and responsibility of projects and as such ALWAYS deliver on agreed upon timelines
Telephone etiquette, as we on the very odd occasion need to assist bank clients with small amendments
Outgoing personality (can be introverted, but must be able to engage with team members from outside the development space)
Presentable (we do interact with our clients and their teams on a regular basis)
Ability to work independently
Innovative structured thinker
Execution and delivery are key critical elements
