A forward-thinking and skilled Junior .Net Developer is sought by a niche Financial Software Development Firm serving UK and US clients to join its team. The successful candidate should have a BCom / BSc or BEng University Degree – preferably in Computer Science / Information Systems, have 2+ years’ experience in .Net (C#) development, web technologies & relational databases in particular MS SQL, can develop Object-Oriented solutions, and be skilled in Git, Mercurial, SVN and can write Unit and Integration tests.
Add new features to the existing back-office banking platform.
Re-design and rebuild of existing core system components.
The creation of new tooling.
Integration with third-party systems and process improvement.
You will receive on-the-job training (induction), guidance and mentorship on financial concepts in global capital markets.
A recognised and relevant BCom / B.Sc / B.Eng. University Degree – preferably in Computer Science and/or Information Systems – is ideal.
2+ Years development experience, particularly with .NET (C#), web technologies and relational databases, specifically MS SQL.
Working knowledge and experience of Object-Orientation Principles.
Writing unit and Integration tests.
Source-Control systems e.g. Git, Mercurial; SVN, etc.
Working in a structured team environment.
Some exposure to basic financial principles through study or work experience would be a bonus, and ideally an interest in the Asset Management/Investment industry.
Ability to think outside the box and present these ideas to less technical colleagues.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
