This Cape Town based software development house requires a Java/WebLogic Developer to join them.
DUTIES:
1. Installation, configuration, maintenance and support of the WebLogic/Java environments and their associated applications.
2. Perform routine checks on all WebLogic/Java platforms to detect an imminent problem.
3. Promote new applications to the test and production environments.
4. Resolve day to day incidents and liaise with Problem Management.
5. Investigate the root cause of incidents.
6. Investigate incidents/errors before escalating to Build team.
7. Liaise with the support vendor on problems identified.
8. Maintain optimum system availability of systems.
9. Maintain patch levels on all WebLogic/Java platforms.
10. Maintain configuration and installation guides and standards.
11. Perform change control and testing.
Requirements
1. A relevant B-Degree / NQF level 5/6 plus 3 years technical experience or a qualified MCSE (Windows 2000/2003) with 5 years technical experience and information security background.
2. Experience with Oracle WebLogic, Portal, ESB or other Java servers is essential.
3. Proven experience in functional areas such as operations, client server systems, and network support will be beneficial.
