A Cape Town based solutions provider requires a Snr Procurement Specialist to participate in presales activities by giving detailed information about the technical specifications of products. At least 5 years experience in an IT procurement role of which at least 1 year was spent as a Senior Consultant or Team Leader.
DUTIES:
1. Participate in presales activities by giving detailed information about the technical specifications of products as well as the actual sales negotiation and procurement of these products in order to meet the client’s needs.
2. Respond to RFx (e.g. Request for Proposal, Request for Information, and Request for Quote).
3. Evaluate, improve and manage RFx processes.
4. Leads supplier management process, including procurement and negotiation.
5. Mentors team members and provides career development opportunities.
Requirements
1. At least 5 years experience in an IT procurement role (specifically focused on SME hardware and software licensing), of which at least 1 year was spent as a Senior Consultant or Team Leader.
2. Proven experience in process evaluation and implementation.
3. Asset management experience.
4. Demonstrated industry experience in IT sales and procurement (direct or reseller).
5. Grade 12.
6. Bachelors Degree would be a distinct advantage.
7. ITIL; MCSE/MCITP and Microsoft Licensing certifications would be preferred.
8. In depth knowledge of supply chain management and procurement.
9. Knowledge and experience in general logistics.
10. Proven ability to develop and implement new processes.
