A Cape Town based telecoms company requires a Snr User Experience Manager to design and maintain UI process flows and associated website brochure ware, online store content creation and web development, as well as advertising creative and sales collateral development. A minimum of 4 years experience within the information, interactive web design world with experience in interface design is required.

DUTIES:
1. Design and maintain UI process flows and associated website brochure ware, online store content creation and web development, as well as advertising creative and sales collateral development.
2. Online store, as well as driving a user centered design approach for all transactional processes.

User Experience Management:
3. Coach, motivate and mentor project team members, including skills transfer.
4. Lead brainstorming sessions for new functionality and drive ideas through wireframe development, prototype creation, usability testing, documentation and implementation.
5. Ensure the timeous delivery of UE outputs from the UE team.
6. Resource management and capacity planning for multiple web development projects across various business divisions.
7. Ensure and champion consistent, user focused and usable design across multiple geographic business areas.
8. Provide support and guidance to all teams in the company on usability and interface design.
9. Contribute to the ongoing development of UE standards and guidelines.
10. Assist in identifying and resolving interface design and usability issues and to ensure that when problems do occur, they are effectively managed and coordinated between the appropriate stakeholders.
11. Consistently ensure that aesthetically pleasing and easy-to-use designs are produced, supported by well-written, grammatically correct copy.

User Experience Strategy:
12. Proactively engage Product Managers and business areas during the development process and assist in defining usability-focused strategy.
13. Work with the department head, product managers, and business units to determine short and long-term usability goals and objectives that are consistent with the strategy of products and marketing.
14. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams both internal and external to continuously improve the user experience.
15. Drive user research, and communicate the long-term vision for the company’s user experience.
16. Perform field research, task analyses, formal and informal UE reviews, usability tests, customer focus groups and surveys.
17. Analyze quantitative and qualitative data.
18. Develop and present recommendations for customer experience enhancement.
19. Understand the customer base, the products, and their interaction; be able to identify problem areas and create innovative solutions that improve the user experience.
20. Identify and support the implementation of improvements in usability and information design.
21. Develop innovative ways to research and understand online customer behaviour and how to improve their experience.
22. Partner with Product Managers and business areas to develop a future customer experience vision for the company.
23. Keep current on new online technologies and trends and usability techniques.

Advertising Campaign Creative Design and Development:
24. Oversee timeous creation of media team campaign creative at an acceptably high standard and to spec.
25. Ensure that web development team applies knowledge of adserving and online media tracking and analytics to the campaign creative design process.

Brand Management:
26. Verify that new features and content requested by various departments are consistent with the overall business strategy and brand.
27. Ensure high level of consistency between brand guidelines and objectives, campaign creative, website page copy and online user experience design.


Requirements

1. Minimum of 4 years experience within the information, interactive web design world.
2. Interface design in web environment.
3. Information and process design.
4. Ability to code in XHTML and a familiarity with Adobe design products an advantage.
5. Project management experience (Strong project management and coordination skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously).
6. Experience in writing business briefs and requirements.
7. 3+ years of experience in global online B2B sales will be advantageous.
8. Relevant Bachelors degree required, post-graduate qualification preferred.
9. Computer literate (MS Office, MS Project, drawing packages, wireframe tools and e-mail).
10. Must have a deep understanding of and commitment to user-centered design principles & methods.
11. Technical web development background.
