A leading mobile communications company based in Cape Town requires an Online Analyst to assist, provide, develop and implement insightful analytics. Advanced online performance metrics implementation and monitoring skills is required with knowledge and experience with both setup and working with BI tools. A Degree with IT/Maths/Statistics as a major is preferred.
DUTIES:
1. Responsible for assisting, providing, developing and implementing insightful analytics.
2. Initiate and drive innovative business, tactical metrics which will be used to measure ROI while using advanced analytical methodologies.
3. Assist in formulating online marketing and business strategy, improving current analytics capabilities including but not limited to tracking, metric’s and reporting while coordinating and driving the setup and implementation of the company’s BI Tool.
4. Provide pre- and post conversion analytics for the online marketing team utilising web analytics software, Excel and a Business Intelligence application suite.
5. Analysis of web analytics results to provide insights that support optimising the site experience and better utilisation of opportunities to acquire, retain and increase revenue from customers across different products and geographies.
6. Weekly online media dashboard performance reporting using PowerPoint.
7. Monthly and quarterly marketing-driven online business performance reporting using PowerPoint.
8. Ad hoc data analysis and reporting in Excel and PowerPoint.
9. Identify and assist with documenting marketing BI and analytics requirements, briefing functional requirements into web development, systems administration and engineering teams, tracking project progress, testing and acceptance, leading to implementation of additional analytics, performance reporting or tools in online analytics and BI tool sets.
10. Liaising with web analytics and BI software vendors to understand and extract full capabilities out of software tools.
11. Use advanced web analytics to identify landing page requirements and optimization opportunities in order to maximize utilisation of conversion opportunities along the customer conversion funnel.
12. Use advanced web analytics and BI tools to identify key business performance metrics, assist in improving these metrics and highlighting new metrics.
13. Monitor, analyse and evaluate campaign, business unit, geography and sales channel performance and recommend new strategic or tactical marketing program enhancements.
14. Assist engineering department with evaluating and implementing a BI tool.
Requirements
1. Degree with IT/Maths/Statistics majors preferred.
2. Knowledge and experience with both setup and working with BI tools.
3. Experience with IBM COGNOS, Crystal Reports or similar BI tools, advantageous.
4. Exceptional data analysis skills.
5. Advanced online performance metrics implementation and monitoring.
6. Tracking and reporting capabilities.
7. BI knowledge and implementation experience.
8. Must be computer literate including knowledge of MSWord, Excel and Visio would be advantageous.
9. SQL and VBA (Excel macro) knowledge highly advantageous.
10. Highly proficient in Excel, with ability to convert data into graphs and data mining experience essential.
11. Experience in online marketing would be advantageous.
12. Highly organized with project management skills essential.
13. Knowledge of online marketing reporting and web analytics systems essential, experience with Google Analytics and Omniture SiteCatalyst preferred.
14. Very strong at converting online marketing and business strategy into appropriate tactical programs and implementing them.
15. Passion for online marketing preferred.
16. Ability to define business rules.
17. Ability to construct process flows.
18. Have a proven ability of managing multiple, competing priorities simultaneously.
19. Ability to analyse and clearly communicate various departmental business and technical requirements and apply these requirements to the company’s solutions.
20. After hour’s availability if required.
