This Cape Town based IT company requires experienced Java Developer on a permanent basis, with at least 2 years solid Java development. Preference will be given to BEE candidates but all can apply. You will be based onsite at various client sites either in teh Southern or Northern Suburbs.
Requirements
1. A minimum of 3 - 5 years Java experience - this excludes any tertiary or "course" experience.
2. Web development skills - preferably WebWork or Struts.
3. Application server (Websphere, JBoss, Oracle Application Server) knowledge – would be an advantage to have exposure to any Application Server (e.g. JBoss) is a must.
4. Servlet and JSP experience.
5. Hibernate / Spring experience would be an advantage but not a requirement.
6. A team player - someone who takes ownership and runs with the task.
7. Approachable and motivated.
8. Will be required to do maintenance and bug fixes on existing applications.
9. Analytical thinker - good with formulas and calculations. One of the applications to maintain is a complicated "Calculation Module".
10. Strong J2SE and good J2EE skills.
11. SOA experience advantageous to have.
